Track 5

Song Title: You're Beautiful

Lyrics: Look up. The sky you see is beautiful. Look around. The birds and animals are beautiful. Look down. Your feet walk on something brilliant, some world -- beautiful. That beauty is God's creation. That beauty is God. He is beautiful. Just one more thing. Look at yourself now. You were handmade by the greatest artist to ever be. He who is beautiful made you in his image. Therefore and therein you are beautiful. Period. No matter what anyone else tells you. No matter what you spend every day telling yourself. You're beautiful. You're beautiful because a beautiful God made you like Him. As He is beautiful therein lies your beauty. It's time now to look forward. As you may have noticed the only direction I didn't tell you to look was back. Please don't look back. I beg you don't live there. Because you don't live there.  Look forward. You're future, if you find it in God, is also beautiful. And it is all so beautiful. You're beautiful because you were made in the image of the most beautiful anything, by a beautiful God. You're beautiful. The video posted below is completely and entirely about telling God, "You're beautiful." But find strength; find courage; find peace; find purpose because He made you like himself. You're beautiful.

Track 4

Song Title: Here We Go a Strummin'

Lyrics: So, I have a wee bit of a life update for ya'll. This event, accomplishment, bucket-list-checker-offer, or you know whatever you'd call it; took place between the hours of 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm yesterday afternoon. You see, I have been playing guitar since the spring of 2011. Now, during the time I've been playing I have never owned a guitar. I have had a long while to look, consider, and choose. If I hadn't made it obvious enough with that last statement... Yes, I bought a guitar yesterday, my first guitar. This new guitar is a Taylor Acoustic 414ce and she's a pretty one. This post however would be so very incomplete if I didn't send a big shout out and thanks to all those who lent me guitars from time to time through the past two years. So, I very much appreciate and say thank you to these people: Lexie Voges-Moore, Shay Doyle, Dustin Runcie, and Zach Lardy. I look forward to all of the travels and stories I will share will this guitar over the next years. I'm sure we'll will see you along the road.

Track 3

Song Title: Flag Day

Lyrics: For some it's a day to remember a loved one who lost there life defending what it stands for. For others it's a day to once again celebrate their freedom. For me it's a day of introspect. It's a day to look at who I am, where I am, and how I want to continue progress in life. How is that, you might ask? Well, not as much practical goals or life accomplishments, but rather characteristics and personality traits that are important to me. And as I look up at "Old Glory" wherever I am reminded that I'm thankful; I'm proud; I'm privileged; I'm free. I am free from punishment when I open up my Bible, pray, or sing a worship song. I am free to where the clothes I want to. I am free to have a job. I am free to choose my career path. I am free to live, to love, and to pursue happiness. Today I do all of this. I remember those who fought for it the flag. I celebrate the freedom it represents. I decide to become more thankful, more proud to be an American, and more appreciative that I am free. So wherever you are, take a look inside. What are you thankful for? What makes you proud? In what ways are you free today?

Just to Clarify...

Hey, everyone just wanted to address a point of confusion you may have run into while reading this blog. Now, since this is a "Soundtrack" you may have noticed that the posts on this site have a certain form to them. Just like an actual soundtrack or album would have; each post has a track number which represents the post number, a song title which represents the subject or theme of the particular post, and of course the lyrics which is the body of the post. So, to recap, This is the "Soundtrack To My Life". So, you could say the blog is an album containing many songs about my life, the music that makes me tick, and the faith that takes me through it all.

Track 2

Song Title: Blessed

Lyrics: I am blessed, and I hope to bless all of you. In this life, God has surrounded me with so many wonderful people, who love and support me in a world that lacks both of those things. And the best part is these people aren't afraid to show it! I am so thankful to those of you, and I'm sure you know who you are; who have helped me through all of my battles in this life. I've probably told you all this personally, but you guys mean a lot to me and I am where I am today because of those of you who stepped in when I was a step behind, a step off, or when I just completely lost my step. Now, if there are any of you out there wondering, "Am I worth it?" or "Where do I go from here?" Or maybe you're just one of the many of us living in a love-confused, lonely, bully of a world. Maybe you're thinking, "Where are my blessings? Do I get anyone to love and support me?" To you I say, "guess what?" This world we live in... it sucks. It takes, it uses, and abuses us, and we're left to wonder, "WHAT GIVES?!" So we'll search, search, and search for something that gives, someone who will just give! Give us what we need, give us what we want, give us what we cannot get from any one or any thing else in our lives. We'll go, go, and go to try and find something that makes us feel like we are worth something. All we want is a break from all of the things that just make us feel like we don't even exist. So we yell into the uncomforting comfort of a pillow full of feathers only when we hug it, we feel about as far from full as it gets. Alone. Empty. Abandoned. Lost. Broken. Dead. But, nonetheless we yell! "WHAT GIVES?! WHO... WILL GIVE?" Many years ago someone gave. Many years ago someone cured loneliness; abandonment; brokenness; death. Many years ago someone loved first. Maybe you know you've heard this. Maybe you've heard this a lot. Maybe you have no idea what this crazy guy is talking about. But... Nevertheless, many years ago God gave us all Jesus, Jesus gave all of us his life. He loved us literally to the point of death, giving us ALL a second chance to let love, support, and blessings back into our lives. To all who accept it, he gave grace; forgiveness; a helping hand; and feet walking alongside through every hard time, but also through every good time. And if you are wondering if you're worth it. You are. If you're wondering if you get anyone to love you, to support you. You do. And if you want to know if there's a way through your pain. There is. You are, You do, There is; and his name is Jesus. He loves you. He will never leave you. He is the only one you'll find that will fill you. He will find you when you're lost. He will pick you up in your brokenness. He will give you life when you're dead inside. And you have to do nothing to get all of this, except look to him and allow him to change you by the power of real love. Look to the one who loves you so much that he died for you, a love so powerful it burst out of the grave 3 days later to show you what love truly looks like. I looked to him and where I used to be alone, I'm with Jesus. Where I used to be empty, he's still there. When I am broken, he pieces me back together. When I feel like I'm dying, he stays with me and keeps me alive. So, I don't know where you are, or what you're going through as you read this. But, I know that you don't have to be there, or go through that alone.  I make it my mission to go through this life showing everyone around me the love that I have experienced. Whether through, a song, a word, or a smile; I hope I  don't go a single day without giving someone else hope, love, and a strength to carry on. I hope we all do the same. So go. Bring love into a love-confused world. Be changed by love, and then go show somebody else how to be changed by it too. Don't let the sun go down again without bringing light into someone else's darkness. Honestly, none of us deserve love. But truly, everyone gets grace, and everyone can have love. I am blessed, and I hope to bless all of you too.

Track 1

Song Title: Expectations

Lyrics: Right now there is an off chance that you may be wondering a few things. Why are there almost no posts here? What can I even expect from this site? Is this guy worth following? Well, this is a brand new blog, so this indeed is one of the very first posts. "Soundtrack To My Life" will give you a sneak peek into what God is doing in my ministry,  my music, and life in general. From time to time you all will get to read, listen, and watch as I share some of my journeys, passions and in some cases advice with you. As you may have already seen, every once in a while I will feature local talent that I get the opportunity to do life with and on occasion may even get to partner with in ministry and/or music. This "Local Spotlight" will almost always include a video or audio recording of the featured person doing what they do best. As for whether or not I'm worth your follow, I may be a little biased, but I'm leaning towards yes. Of course what you do is completely up to you though. I hope to encourage, and make everyone who subscribes happy they did and possibly even better for doing so. Thanks for checking it out and I hope you can visit again soon.
